VR6 AVR arecontained in an encapsulated plastic case, and regulator controls the DCexciter field power of conventional, 50 OR60 HHZ brushless generators.Regulation is provided by sensing the generator output voltage, convertingit to a DCsignal and comparing the signal to a reference voItage signal. Which isprovided by sensing the generator output voltage, converting it to a DC signal and comparting thesignal to a reference voltage signal. An error signal is developed and used tocontrol the DC field power in order to maintain a constant generator output.

The regulatorincludes frequency compensation with selectaable slope,inverse timeover-excitation shutdown, solid-statebuild-up circuitry,single-phase orthree-phase voltage sensing,single-phase or threephaseshunt, or permaanent magnet power input, and paralleldroopcompensation,and an accessory input. The accessory input provides compatibility withaccessories such as a var/power factorcontroller.
